United Way to host 2018-2020 Grant Cycle meeting

Nonprofit organizations looking to be considered for financial support through United Way of Crow Wing and Cass Counties are encouraged to attend an upcoming informational meeting at noon Wednesday in the CTC Room at the Brainerd Lakes Chamber.

This meeting is critical for those interested in applying for 2018-2020 grant cycle dollars to support local programming in the areas of education, health and financial stability. The application process for this upcoming grant cycle opens Feb. 12.

Jennifer Smith, United Way executive director, said all interested organizations are highly encouraged to attend this meeting due to changes in the process from prior years.

"Even if your program has received funds in the past, we really want to encourage all interested organizations to attend this Feb. 7 meeting," Smith said in a news release. "We've had a few changes in the application and allocation process that we want everyone to understand up front."

Among the changes is a new minimum dollar amount for awarded grants, as well as preference points for programs that meet certain criteria.

Grant applications will be available online on Feb. 12 at: www.unitedwaynow.org.
