The Regional Directorate, DAV Institutions, Odisha Zone-I has asked the DAV Public School, Kendrapada to stop using acronym ‘DAV’ by March 31, 2018 as the tag has not been permitted by the DAV College Trust and Management Society, New Delhi.
Regional Director Dr KC Satapathy has written to the school’s owner Rannjan Biswal in this regard on December 14, 2017. Satpathy mentioned that Biswal was running the school under the DAV trade mark despite an earlier request made to him through a letter dated March 1, 2012.
According to locals, Biswal has already collected crores of rupees towards fees from local students, who are studying in school, located opposite to the residence of the District Magistrate, Kendrapada.
Satapathy also mentioned that the district administration of Kendrapada has been informed about illegal use of the acronym, DAV.
Now, the guardians have complained that the study materials and books supplied by the school are not from the approved publisher. The Xerox copies of the books are also being distributed by the school.
Guardians had lodged a complaint to the DAV College Management Committee in this regard on August 19, 2016.
Sources said the documents were audited by a senior lecturer of Kendrapada College, Dr RajendraTripathy, and an educationist, Partha Prtim Choudhary. The report, submitted on September 21, 2016 shows a chain of misconducts committed in the school which includes fraudulent signatures of the board members, false resolutions passed and signed with multiple bank accounts.
Satpathy mentioned that the United Bank of India was also asked not to operate the Account Number 1912903 which is in the name of DAV Public School Kendrapada to safe guard school funds in the name of students.
Now, intellectuals have demanded that the DAV Management take strong action against the school at the earliest in the interest of students’ future.
