McKinley defeats Hoover. Lake survives scare against Perry in overtime. Louisville defeats Salem.

MCKINLEY 63, HOOVER 47 Deontae McCollum scored 18 points for McKinley as the Bulldogs sent Hoover to its 11th straight loss. Ty Straughter added 16 points for McKinley. Nick Bunnenberg had 16 points to lead the Vikings. Hoover could not recover after falling behind 28-13 at halftime.
LAKE 56, PERRY 53 OT Lake scored two points in the final 9.8 seconds of regulation to force overtime and went on to defeat upset-minded Perry. The Blue Streaks outscored the Panthers 6-3 in the extra session. Mike Spotleson had 15 points to lead Lake, which moves into first-place tie with Jackson after the Polar Bears knocked off Green Friday. Jake Maranville added 14 points for the Blue Streaks. Jeremy Brady also had 11 points for Lake. Quentin Toles led Perry with 18 points.
CLEVELAND CENTRAL CATHOLIC 69, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 52 Ben Crawford hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points for St. Thomas Aquinas but the Knights fell on the road in North Coast League White Division play. Garrett Repp added 17 points for Aquinas. The Knights fell behind 15-8 after the first quarter and could not recover. Dyshawn Jackson was the leading scorer for Cleveland Central Catholic with 19 points.
CANTON SOUTH 55, MINERVA 52 The host Lions led through three quarters but they could not hold off the Wildcats, who broke through in the fourth quarter with 21 points to edge Minerva. The Wildcats spread the scoring wealth as Chris Fontes dropped in 15 points, sean Blackmon had a dozen and Tyrese Williams added 10. Minerva guard Connor Wright went 11-for-11 at the foul line and scored 25 points to move into 35th place — hopping over McKinley great Eric Snow and Sandy Valley's Gary Provance — on Stark County’s career scoring list with 1,253 points. Canton South won despite going 6-of-12 at the foul line, while the hosts were a healthy 17-of-20.
LOUISVILLE 73, SALEM 53 Brandon Wahl poured in 32 points for Louisville (11-5, 8-2) to help the Leopards snap a two game losing streak with a convincing win over Salem (7-9, 3-7). Derek Zeller also had 15 points for Louisville. Mitch Davidson led Salem with 30 points and seven rebounds. The victory kept the Leopards in sole possession of first place in the NBC. Marlington is 8-3 and West Branch is 7-3 in the league after both teams earned victories on Friday.
WEST BRANCH 51, CARROLLTON 30 T.J. DeShields had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds to help West Branch to its ninth straight win. West Branch has won seven straight NBC games during that span. Reese Leone was the leading scorer for West Branch with 15 points. Michael Boosz added 12 points for West Branch.
EAST CANTON 58, TUSKY VALLEY 41 Anthony Baad had 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals for East Canton to help the Hornets to their sixth win in seven games. Dallas Moldovan also had 11 points and four rebounds for East Canton. Jared Kienzle led Tusky Valley with 14 points. The Trojans fell behind 20-9 after the first quarter and could not recover.
SANDY VALLEY 38, TUSKY CENTRAL CATHOLIC 16 The Cardinals turned in one of their top defensive efforts ever, not allowing the Saints more than six points in any quarter and to just five field goals for the game. Sandy Valley used a dozen points apiece from Dan Bartholomew and Bryce Kelly to wins its fifth straight game and eighth in its last nine. Bartholomew also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
MANCHESTER 42, CVCA 32 Defense was the word until the fourth quarter. The Panthers scored more points in the final quarter than they had the previous three combined as they outscored the Royals 22-14 to grab the PAC-7 victory. Nick Beans hit three triples and scored a game-high 13 points and Sam Hettich added 10 for Manchester. CVCA entered the night just a half game out of first place in the league.
HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 83, HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN 31 The visiting Conquerors put up a 54-point first half en route to crushing Heartland Christian. Heritage Christian had four player sin double figures, led by Angelo Milini’s game-high 23 points that included four 3-pointers.
