One woman is dead and a man is in jail facing an intoxication manslaughter charge after a crash along Interstate 30 that occurred before 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
Paola Hernandez, 25, died at the scene of the collision after Arlington police arrived. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office listed the Fort Worth resident's time of death as 2:09 a.m.
Officers arrested Jesus Briones, 26, in connection with the crash. He faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter, according to jail records.
According to Lt. Christopher Cook, an Arlington police spokesman, Briones was driving when his vehicle left the road and struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on the shoulder near the exit for Ballpark Way.
His passenger, identified by the medical examiner's office as Hernandez, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
At the time of the crash, Briones also had an outstanding warrant with Fort Worth police, according to jail records.
