If you’re planning a romantic getaway, or a fun weekend away with some mates, you can get the best bang for your buck by being smart about your destination choices.
To find out which tourist spots are the most affordable, researchers at Loot analysed more than £1 million worth of transactions.
They took flight costs, accommodation, entertainment and food and drink into consideration before compiling the results.

Spending a couple of days in Sofia, Edinburgh or Prague will cause the least damage to your bank account.
Berlin, Warsaw and Brussels were also revealed to be purse-friendly destinations.
If you’re looking to stay in the UK, Edinburgh and Birmingham are savvy choices.
Results showed that Amsterdam was the most expensive of all trips, costing a sizeable £370 per person.
You’d also have to splash out considerably more to visit Reykjavic, Dublin and Vienna.
When it came to British cities, the capital was the only to make an appearance on the expensive cities list.
