The Celtics have reportedly agreed to a contract with the Georgetown product for the remainder of this season.

BOSTON – They have not made an acquisition past the midway point of the season since the trade deadline day of Feb. 19, 2015.

That is when the Celtics landed Isaiah Thomas from the Phoenix Suns plus Jonas Jerebko and Gigi Datome from the Detroit Pistons, pieces that helped them make the playoffs that spring.

The Celtics are about to make their first February roster addition since then as they have agreed to a deal with free-agent forward Greg Monroe, according to reports.

After having his contract bought out by the Phoenix Suns earlier this week, Monroe is expected to sign a contract for the rest of the season worth $5 million.

The Celtics have the money available from a disabled player exception granted by the NBA following Gordon Hayward’s season-ending injury.

The 27-year-old Monroe will clear waivers today and could join the Celtics this weekend.

The team could not announce the signing Friday night, and coach Brad Stevens declined to comment on the matter before his team faced the Atlanta Hawks at the TD Garden.

“Can’t talk about it. Sorry,’’ said Stevens.

Monroe, in his eighth season after being drafted No. 7 in 2010, played five seasons with the Detroit Pistons and two full years with the Milwaukee Bucks. After five games this season, the Bucks traded him to the Suns for Eric Bledsoe, but Monroe played only 20 games, averaging 11.3 points.

For his career, Monroe is averaging 13.9 points on 51 percent shooting and 8.7 rebounds in 563 games with 415 starts.

He will give the Celtics another scoring option off the bench plus rebounding, though Monroe’s defense is hardly a strong point.

“He’s a great pickup for us, a veteran player who knows how to play the game, been around the league for a while,’’ said Marcus Morris. “I think he’ll add to our size down low, our scoring ability.

“He’s a big body. Even if he’s not scoring, he’s carving space for other guys to be able to drive. He’s well respected around the league so that goes a long way. I think he’s definitely going to be a great piece for us going forward.’’

Monroe will be the fourth Georgetown player to suit up for the Celtics, joining Jeff Green, Charles Smith and John Mahnken (in the 1950s).

The trade deadline is Thursday afternoon, so the Celtics may be making another move.

Injury report: The Celtics had just 10 players in uniform, including six rookies.

Kyrie Irving missed his second straight game with a quad bruise.

“Kyrie feels a little bit better again but still will be day to day, not ready to play,’’ said Stevens.

Morris, who landed on his backside Wednesday night, said he felt better but might not play until next Tuesday night in Toronto.

“Actually it responded a little bit better than what we expected,’’ said Morris, who fell after a dunk against the New York Knicks. “I’m probably questionable for Sunday, for sure Tuesday. It’s a lot better.’’

Shane Larkin (right knee) and Marcus Smart (hand laceration) were also out. Smart will miss another 10-14 days, according to Stevens.

Fan of the Eagles: Philadelphia native Morris was wearing a Randall Cunningham jersey, showing his support for the Eagles.

Asked if he’s been getting grief from Patriots fans, Morris said, “Of course. Every time I get out of the car I’ve got a whole lot of haters. It is what it is.’’
