LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lupita Nyong'o (loo-PEE'-tuh nee-YAHNG'-goh) is hailing the "public, intimate conversation" about sexual misconduct in Hollywood and elsewhere.
The 34-year-old actress who wrote an essay in October detailing her experiences with Harvey Weinstein says she's been happy to see the growth since then of the #MeToo and Time's Up movements.
Nyong'o says she feels that it is important that the conversation about such an intimate topic is happening publicly. She called it "healthy" and hopes society can get to a place where such incidents "are no longer haunting."
