Denison Police
Vehicle in the roadway — Officers responded on Jan. 24 to the call of a vehicle parked in the roadway in the 2900 block of Eisenhower Parkway. A male suspect was arrested for sleeping in public.
Identity theft — A female complainant reported on Jan. 24 that a suspect obtained her credit card at a department store in the 2900 block of Layne Drive. The investigation will continue.
Assault causing bodily injury — Officers responded on Jan. 26 to a disturbance call from a residence in the 1400 block of South Travis. A male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence/impeding breath and public intoxication.
Theft — A male complainant reported a theft on Jan. 26 in the 1000 block of West Bond. He stated that a suspect stole a punching bag and bicycle from outside his residence.
Burglary of a habitation — An officer responded on Jan. 27 to a male victim in the 900 block of West Shepherd. He stated that a suspect stole a television from inside his residence.
Criminal mischief — A complainant reported on Jan. 27 that a suspect broke out a window of a business in the 1500 block of West Morton.
Disturbance — Dispatch received a call on Jan. 27 to report a disturbance in a grocery store in the 200 block of West Crawford. A male suspect was arrested for public intoxication.
Burglary of a vehicle — An officer responded on Jan. 28 to a female victim in the 800 block of North U.S. Highway 75. She stated that a suspect entered her unlocked vehicle and took a camera, laptop and various other items from inside the vehicle. The suspect also took a debit card belonging to the victim and used it in another town nearby. The investigation will continue.
Burglary of a vehicle — A complainant stated on Jan. 28 that a suspect entered their locked vehicle in the 800 block of North U.S. Highway 75 by breaking a door lock. The suspect removed numerous items from the vehicle and from a toolbox located in the back of the truck.
Sherman Police
Criminal trespass — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 24 to the 300 block of South Loving in response to a disturbance call. Two neighbors engaged in an argument about one being on the other’s property. When police arrived, the suspect neighbor returned inside her home. She came out later and went into her neighbor’s backyard. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Found property — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 24 to the 700 block of North Woods Street in reference to found property. The found property was located in the driveway of a residence. The officer was not able to locate the owner. The property was collected for safekeeping and a report for found property was generated.
Assault — Officers responded on Jan. 26 to a call in reference to an assault in the 1800 block of West Washington Street. They spoke with the victim at the hospital, and a case was generated for assault family household member with previous conviction and interference with an emergency call with previous conviction. The case will be forwarded to the CID.
Theft — Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Gallagher Drive in reference to a theft. The victim reported that a welder worth approximately $3,500 was taken from the job site. A report for theft of property from $2,500-$30,000 was filed. The investigation is ongoing.
Criminal trespass — An officer was dispatched on Jan. 27 to the 900 block of North Ross Avenue in reference to a burglary. The officer’s investigation revealed that a suspect had made forced entry into a vacant residence. No property was taken from the residence. A report for criminal trespass was generated, and the investigation is ongoing.
Theft — An officer responded on Jan. 27 to a female complainant in reference to a theft. She advised that she worked for a business in the 100 block of West Lamar Street, and that another employee had stolen money from the business. A report for theft was filed.
Missing Persons — Dispatch received a call on Jan. 27 from a residence in reference to a possible suicide attempt. The caller was a third party who reported that her daughter was attempting suicide. Officers were dispatched, and when they arrived were told that the daughter was OK, but was no longer at the residence. A missing persons report was generated.
Found property — Officers received found property on Jan. 28 in the lobby of police headquarters. A report for found property was completed.
Burglary of a habitation — Officers responded on Jan. 28 to a theft in the 700 block of South Maxey Street. Upon arrival, they learned that lawn equipment items were taken from an enclosed porch. A report for burglary of a habitation was filed.
Theft — Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Crockett Street in response to a report of theft. Upon arrival, they learned that multiple individuals entered the store and took cases of beer without paying for them. A report for theft of property was generated.
