WOOSTER — Melvin Roosevelt Grindstaff, 81, of Wooster, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at his home.

He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Robbinsville, N.C., the son of John P. and Icie Rich Grindstaff. He was a farmer and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Domer Grindstaff, whom he married March 25, 1961; a daughter, Teresa Grindstaff of Wooster, and sons, David, John and Charles Grindstaff, all of Wooster; two grandchildren; brothers, Claude Grindstaff of Wooster, Richard and Marvin Grindstaff, both of Robbinsville, N.C.; and sister, Violet Messner of Robbinsville, N.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He will be laid to rest in Grindstaff Family Cemetery, Robbinsville, N.C.
