SPRING CITY >> Spring City Police have now joined an investigation with Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick Police after a card skimmer was found at Turkey Hill.

Police said in a post Friday that they are investigating an incident in which two suspects entered the Turkey Hill located at Bridge and Main streets on Feb. 1 and placed what appears to be a credit card skimmer on the card reader. Police say the men distracted the clerk while they placed the skimmer on the machine.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:22 p.m. and the skimmer was discovered at 9:32 p.m. The device was disabled and removed before anyone’s accounts could be compromised, police said.

This is the latest in a series of similar incidents that were recently reported in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships. Police departments from those areas announced Thursday that they were launching a joint investigation after card skimmers were discovered at Aldi stores located at West Ridge Pike and Township Line Road as well as at 297 Armand Hammer Boulevard. In those incidents, multiple victims had their accounts compromised, police said.

Spring City Police said they believe the suspects captured on surveillance footage at Turkey Hill are the same individuals involved in incidents in Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick. Spring City will be working with Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick police departments in the investigation, police said.

Police are asking that anyone with information on the suspects’ identities or information on any other possible perpetrators contact them immediately. Additionally, police are asking that individuals report any suspicious activity at other ATMs.
