His first FBS offer came from an in-state school, and Logan Klemp pounced on it.

The South Hamilton linebacker tweeted Friday he has committed to Iowa.

Klemp had offers from FCS Northern Iowa, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota and Cornell, according to 247Sports, which also said Iowa and Iowa State were interested.

Klemp is a 2-star recruit on Rivals.com. He racked up 82.5 total tackles (53 solo), including 11 for loss and six sacks for the 8-2 Hawks his senior season. He was also South Hamilton’s top weapon on offense, rushing for 1,260 yards and 13 touchdowns on 188 carries and catching 11 passes for 131 yards and a TD.

The Iowa Football Coaches Assocation named Klemp the Class 1A Player of the Year. He’s averaging 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds for the 19-0 SH basketball team, currently ranked No. 6 in Class 2A.

Klemp is Iowa’s second scholarship linebacker commit in the Class of 2018, joining 2-star Sioux Falls, S.D., signee Seth Benson.
