Roundup: Bath charges back to beat St. Marys in girls basketball

ST. MARYS — Bath outscored the host Roughriders 17-10 in the fourth quarter to earn a 39-35 Western Buckeye League girls basketball game Thursday night.

Elyssabette Andrews and Jaidyn Hale each had 16 points for the Wildkittens (14-4, 5-2 WBL). Makenna Mele and Lauren Cisco each scored 12 for St. Marys (8-10, 2-5).

Wapakoneta 64, Celina 41

WAPAKONETA — Lexi Jacobs (20), Sarah Pothast (18) and Makenzie Wilson (10) each scored in double digits for the host Redskins (11-6, 5-2 WBL). Makenna Klingshirn had 10 points for Celina (2-16, 0-7).

Van Wert 54, Elida 50

ELIDA — Shyah Wheeler had 21 points and Cienna Kuhn scored 11 for Elida (6-12, 2-5 WBL). Complete player names were not provided for Van Wert (6-12, 2-5).

DELPHOS — Marlee Vaughn had 14 points and Carleigh Stammen and Addy Vaughn each scored 13 for St. Henry (11-8, 3-4 Midwest Athletic Conference). Paige Gaynier had 23 points, including five 3-pointers, Ellie Csukker had 15 points and seven rebounds and Taylor Zuber had nine points and five rebounds for St. John’s (8-11, 1-6).

MCGUFFEY — Aubrey Biederman had 18 points and Kayla Wicker scored 16 for Waynesfield-Goshen (5-13, 2-4 Northwest Central Conference). Kaycee Carroll had 27 points and Haley Hunsicker scored 11 for USV (5-13, 3-3 NWCC).

HARROD — The Pirates (5-2 NWC) improved to 13-5 on the season while Allen East (2-5 NWC) fell to 8-8. No other information was reported about this game.

ARCADIA — The visiting Vikings (17-1) moved into second place alone in the Blanchard Valley Conference with an 8-1 league mark. Heather Lammers had 16 points and Kierra Meyer scored 10 for Leipsic.

HCAC recognizes

Bluffton’s Rowe

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Kaycee Rowe, an Allen East graduate, has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a pair of conference wins. It marks the second time Rowe has been named HCAC Player of the Week this season.

Rowe put up a pair of double-doubles in Bluffton’s wins against Earlham and Hanover last week. The senior averaged 15.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game while connecting on 10-of-17 (58.8 percent) from the field. Rowe was 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) at the free throw line.

She is sixth all-time at Bluffton with 1,070 points and her 591 career rebounds are eighth all-time.
