Two loan sharks arrested for threatening man with life in Surat

Surat: Two persons were arrested by the police on Friday for forcing a debtor to pay up additional money to them. The victim, who is a trader, took a loan of Rs 10 lakh from them, which he repaid. However, accused Ashish Thakur and Dharmesh Rajput said he still owed them Rs 5 lakh and threatened him if he did not pay up the money.

The accused have been booked under IPC Sections 384, 506(2) and 114 and Gujarat Money-Lenders Act Section 42 for harassing and threatening Akash Jaju. They threatened to kill him if he did not pay up the dues at the earliest. Jaju registered a complaint against the duo at Khatodara police station on Thursday. A police officer said, "We have arrested both the accused. We are still investigating the case." tnn
