Mary Bell Harvey Jeffers “Toots” passed away peacefully in her home on Feb. 1, 2018. Mary was born on Nov. 13, 1931 in Harlem, MT to Nellie and Samuel Harvey. The youngest of ten, Mary grew up in Harlem, MT with her nine siblings. She loved to hunt with Sam Harvey and her brothers and was one of the best shots.
She graduated from Harlem High School in 1950. She soon moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with her sister. After her short stint in Las Vegas she came back to Havre where she met her husband and had two sons, Darrell and David. When the boys were young the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they spent three years. They moved to Billings, Montana in 1963 and she lived here for the rest of her days.
Mary worked as a secretary for Midland Electric for 30 plus years, only to retire when she was in her late 70s. Mary spent many Saturdays with her grandchildren and great grandchildren watching football and baseball games. She was always their number one cheerleader. She loved to pawn shop and taking her grandkids to garage sales.
She was a proud member of the Little Shell Band of Chippewa Indians. She loved pizza, shopping, and socializing, and always had wonderful stories that captivated a room. She collected and cherished pictures of her family and friends, always bringing out photo albums for company.
Mary will be lovely missed by her sons, Darrell (Connie) Jeffers and David Jeffers; grandchildren Joshua (Nicole) Jeffers, Julie Jeffers (Josh Fenton), Jacie (Spenser) Jeffers-Kuhn, Kelsey and Taylor Jeffers; great-grandchildren Jordan Jeffers, Devon Jeffers, Alexandra Davis, and Jackson Jeffers, step great-grandchildren Teal Custer, Michael, Kennyth, and Brooklyn Fenton, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Nellie and Samuel Harvey, Brother Bob, Ken, John, Ed, and sisters Nel, Viola, Doris, Lilian.
