SYCAMORE – The Sycamore High School Music Hall of Fame will induct two new honorees at the annual A Note to Remember event Feb. 10.
Jerry Taylor, who graduated in 1946, and Christine (Wild) Monteiro, who graduated in 1987, will be inducted into the hall at a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. in the Sycamore High School Auditorium. Taylor has had a long music career, including recording an album in Nashville called “The Mellow Country Side of Jerry Taylor,” and has sung for 71 years in the St. John’s Lutheran Church choir in Sycamore.
Monteiro has performed in choirs and and ensembles and, in 1998, was placed fourth in the National Association of Teachers Singing Artists Award. In 2004, she was an overall finalist in the Lotte Lehman Foundation Cybersing International and the winner of the Audience Favorite Prize.
The inductees will be honored at the annual A Note to Remember from 7 to 11 p.m. Feb. 10 at Blumen Gardens, Sycamore.
