The minister of state for Health General duties Sarah Opendi Achieng has applauded the forces for exhibiting high level of transparency whenever entrusted with Government tasks.

The minister made the remarks while officiating at the flagging off of renovation works of female wards at Tororo District Hospital undertaken by UPDF and Rwanda Defence Forces.

The minister also added that UPDF has never disappointed government from fulfilling any tasks assigned to do yet on minimal supervision.

The minister said considering the honesty, commitment and transparency UPDF exhibits, government will in the years to come give the army to offer services in various sectors since government has lost Billions of shillings contracting individuals and private sectors which she said has caused inflation and producing shoddy work.

Brig Michael Ondoga who represented the UPDF reaffirmed the institutions commitment and dedication to serve the Nation at all levels whenever entrusted with any tasks.

Brig Ondoga said Renovation works at Tororo district Hospital female wards is part of the series of activities to mark EAC Army week in commemoration of 6th Feb 2018 Tarehe Sita to be held in Butaleja district.

Brig Ondoga added that Free medical services including Voluntary counselling and testing, eye clinics, dental services, fumigation and out patients services were among key services rendered to the communities. He appealed to the people of Bukedi Subregion to use that chance and get free medical services.
