LIBERTY — Danny Russell Lucas, 58, of Liberty, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.


Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at Loflin Funeral Home chapel, Ramseur, with the Rev. Wayne Tucker officiating.


Danny was born in Moore County and employed with the Town of Ramseur. He was a shining example of what a man should aspire to, as he was loved by the community he served for over 25 years and by his family for whom he cared more than anything else. He was a man who would give the shirt off his back if he thought it would help, no matter who you were.


He was preceded in death by parents, Elisha and Eutha Brown Lucas; and brothers, Jerry and Dee Lucas.


Survivors are wife, Faye Lucas of the home; daughter, Amanda Farrell of High Point; step-daughters, Brenda Ashley and Michelle Smith; step-son, Ronald Ingold and wife Carla; sisters, Elgie Lucas Tucker and husband Wayne, Joan Lucas and husband Mike, Joy Tucker and husband Eugene and Marcella Lucas Woodell and husband Charles; brother, Jacob Lucas; grandchildren, Gregory and Breanna Ashley, McKenzie, John, Joe and Elizabeth Ingold and Jessica, Sarah, Carson and Ava Smith; and great-grandchildren, Naomi and Eli Ingold.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ramseur, and other times at the home of daughter, Amanda Farrell, in High Point.
