CALDWELL — In an effort to increase services and education for families facing Alzheimer’s and dementia, the Alzheimer’s Association West Virginia Chapter will host a Mobile Resource Center at the Caldwell Public Library, 517 Spruce St.

The community is invited to stop by on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to receive free services or attend a presentation of ‘Know the 10 Signs’ at noon.

Alzheimer’s and dementia pose many questions. The Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to helping families navigate through the journey and are here to help find the answers. Community members may stop by to pick up educational materials, discuss local resources or meet with a care consultant to help assess needs of their family member, assist with planning and problem solving, and provide supportive listening.

The ‘Know the 10 Signs’ workshop will provide attendees with information about the difference between normal aging and Alzheimer’s disease, the benefits of early detection, as well as tips to follow up on any concerns attendees may have about themselves or someone they care about. People who attend the workshop will discuss the fears and myths associated with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias as well as the following key topics:? The 10 warning signs, basic overview of Alzheimer’s disease, what is involved in getting a diagnosis, benefits of early detection including accessing available treatment, planning for the future and participating in clinical trials.
