The Central Christian College women's basketball team hosted what appeared to be a track meet on Thursday evening against the Mid America Christian University Evangels. The teams raced up and down the floor at a furious pace, and when the dust settled, the Evangels left the Jerry E. Alexander Arena with a 116-68 victory.

Both teams had almost the same number of possessions and looks at the basket. The difference was the number of shots that went in, and from where they were shot on the floor. The Tigers finished the game 24 of 80 from the floor and 6 of 31 from behind the three point arc while the Evangels were 43 of 82 and 17 of 36 from downtown. The Tigers held the edge in turnovers, committing 18 while the Evangels coughed it up 21 times, but lost the battle on the glass 63 to 40.

The Evangels jumped out to a quick lead in the opening period 36-16, and then continued the momentum in the second period to finish the half with a 58 to 28 lead. The third and fourth periods were more of the same, and by the end of the third the Evangel lead was up to 40, 87-47. The Tigers had their best offensive quarter in the fourth, scoring 21 points, but they couldn't do anything to stop the Evangel offense as they continued to score at will. In the end, the deficit had grown to 48 at the final horn, 116-68. Holly Golden led all scorers in the game with 26. She was 9 of 21 from the floor, and 8 of 11 from the free throw line. She was joined in double figures by Abbie Banks who had 14, and Ridglea Hearne, who chipped in 10. With the loss, the Tigers are now 1-20 on the year, and still looking for that first conference win of the season. They will get another opportunity on Saturday at 3:00 pm when they host the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma Drovers.
