Ujjain: City youths in regional ABVP body

Ujjain: Five local student leaders were appointed functionaries of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), regional body during its golden jubilee celebrations held at Bhopal. The appointments were made during the 50th three day regional convention of the ABVP, which concluded on Thursday.

According to a release, the Madhya Pradesh regional executive was announced on the final day of the convention, in which Dharmendra Rajput was appointed deputy executive vice-president and Rohit Shukla, Anshul Nahar, Himanshu Rawal and Jayati Disawal were made executive members. Jayati Disawal is also a student union president of Government Madhav Law College.

Four proposals were passed in the proposal session, significant amongst which were the announcement of steps to be taken for women’s education, security and self-reliance. There was also a call for change in Amul granite used in the universities of the state and improvement in protection of tribal people of Madhya Pradesh.


Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan attended the inaugural session of the convention. On the second day, ABVP national organisational minister, Sunil Ambekar guided participants of the state. Grandson of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrakant Bose was present during the evening session.
