The Bustamante Hospital For Children (BHC) yesterday received $100 million from the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation, meeting the target that conceptualiser and founder, Orville 'Shaggy' Burrell, announced last year.
Addressing the launch of the Shaggy and Friends Concert last December, the international icon and philanthropist had indicated that he was confident that the charity event, which was held in January, could generate the funds being targeted.
Through his Make A Difference Foundation, the entertainer has used the proceedings to purchase hundreds of pieces of vital equipment for the BHC.
In 2016, more than 450 pieces of equipment were purchased and handed over to the hospital from the funds raised at that year's staging of the event.
