A weight-loss consultant has teamed up with a market leader to create health snacks.
Cheshire-based Laura Jackson has signed a deal with Myprotein to take her business Protein Bakery nationwide.
Jackson used her experience as a weight-loss consultant and mum to come up with a range of tasty treats that won’t ruin the diet plan.
The 32-year-old mum of four has secured deals with two national supermarket chains and counts Strictly Come Dancing and Emmerdale star Gemma Atkinson, a host of sporting professionals and The Real Housewives Of Cheshire among her celebrity fans.
The products are on course to make £2.9m this year.

Jackson, a former salon manager who studied law at university, says: “Four years ago I weighed 19 stone but I followed a strict regime and dropped five dress sizes. I lost 7st and ended up working for the diet plan that I had followed, helping others to follow in my footsteps.
“But I found a common problem with my clients was they wanted to snack on guilt-free cakes so they could stick to their weight-loss plan.
“There was a gap in the market and I always knew business was in my bones. So I researched protein and health food and went into my kitchen to experiment.
“The first product I made was a protein chocolate chip cookie, and when my kids loved them and I had fooled them into thinking it wasn’t ‘healthy’ - that was when I knew I was on to a winner.”
Jackson messaged one of the Myprotein directors, offering him a sample. He loved what he tasted and the result was a rare dual brand deal. Further networking has led to national supermarkets stocking Protein Bakery’s range.
Myprotein and Protein Bakery launch the range, including healthy takes on chocolate donuts, iced donuts and Jaffa Cakes, in May.
Jackson, who is also developing a free-from and vegan range called Truly Laura, added: “I hope to launch cookbooks, TV shows and create an empire that shows all women that they can achieve anything.”
