Criminal charges cannot be framed against Ravi, lawyers say
Submissions were made to the Colombo Fort magistrate’s court today against Arjun Mahendran, Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena in connection with the CB bond fraud under criminal breach of trust and criminal misuse. Therefore, they can be arrested without a warrant.
However, the bond commission has leveled charges against Ravi Karunanayake under the bribery act. Therefore, lawyers say, he cannot be arrested or criminal charges filed against him. Officials of the CID and the attorney general’s department have confirmed that, reports say.
