Helmed by debutant Vikram Sirkonda, Touch Chesi Chudu hits the silver screens today (on February 2). Ravi Teja‘s film Touch Chesi Chudu is an action-packed entertainer that chronicles the life of Karthikeya, a dedicated and duty-minded police officer, who struggles to draw a balance between his personal and professional life. The film features Ravi Teja, Raashi Khanna and Seerat Kapoor in the lead roles while Freddy Daruwala plays the main antagonist which marks his debut in Telugu cinema. Touch Chesi Chudu is bankrolled by Nallamalapu Srinivas and Vallabhaneni Vamshi Mohan under Lakshmi Narasimha Productions banner, while the music for the film was scored by Pritham via his Jam 8 company and Mani Sharma scored the background score. Hans India: Touch Chesi Chudu is the regular mass masala movie that has a routine storyline. The film lacks the freshness, but the director tried to present the film by giving new characterizations to the actors. Though the storyline is regular, the film has some high and robust voltage mass action episodes. Ravi Teja’s excellent energy levels and comic timing is sure to impress the audiences. There are high chances that the audiences in B and C centers will end up liking the film as the film offers solid commercial content with no boredom. On the whole, the film Touch Chesi Chudu tried to reach the expectations, and it is a one-time watchable fare.
Times of India: If you’re a Ravi Teja fan, or have seen enough of his movies, then you know pretty much know what to expect – Good humour, punch dialogues (delivered in his inimitable style) and action-packed storyline. In Vikram Sirikonda’s ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’, Ravi Teja is meaner and leaner than he ever was, but the script lacks any of the attributes that made him a successful star in the first place. With a shoddy screenplay and an unimaginative storyline, ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ is a cumbersome watch. But even if you’re a die-hard fan of the Mass Maharaja, you wouldn’t help but feel short-changed after watching the film. Ravi Teja’s dialogue-delivery is still intact, he can still beat up goons, he can still dance in foreign locales but if you’re expecting a good story to be told, I’m afraid you won’t find it here.
Telugu360: On the whole, Touch Chesi Chudu is a disastrous film in Ravi Teja’s career. With its boring first half and a mediocre second half with few mass elements, this film is a sub-standard product. Debutante director Vikram Sirikonda has lost a golden opportunity and has no signs of making a long career in Tollywood. Mirchi9: With the regular commercial entertainer, the idea is always to entertain irrespective if the logic of the plausibility. With that in mind, the movie offers some comedy that could be enjoyed initially. The issue comes with repetition and lack of progress in the story. Simply put, there is a standstill of emotions, and we expect something big to happen. It does arrive but when it comes it is too late, and the resultant action doesn’t match the expectation. The interval appears weak as a result. The second half starts with a bang with the reintroduction of the character of the hero. But everything that follows is a huge letdown. It fails at multiple levels with zero emotional connect being the most significant issue. One feels as if the director is making a ‘meta’ movie here. Not only is the character of hero restless and going through his duty chores without thinking about the family, but the director too is going through the motions of direction without thinking about narrative or the audience. An utterly tasteless recipe gets served to the viewers in the end.
