BARRINGTON — Check your attics, barns and cubbyholes for those old family photo albums and scrapbooks. Bring them to Barrington Public Library for the first Barrington Old Photo Roadshow on Saturday, Feb 17, 11 a.m.-2 pm.
Share your pictures and stories of Barrington and the area from the 1800s to the 1960s. There will be several volunteer scanning stations to scan your items, save them to your CD or thumb drive (CDS will be available at $1 each), and keep a copy for the Barrington Historical.
Some old photo topics include: schools, people, businesses, summer vacations, inns, early traveling, and more. Negatives, slides, faded, dark/light, or ripped photos can be scanned for possible future projects.
This event is sponsored by the Barrington Genealogy Club which will be taping the day to preserve stories that enhance the photos. A photo release form will be onsite to be signed.
Call the library for more information at 664-9715. Those who cannot make to the library can email Cyndi Twombly at twobrowntrees@gmail.com to set up an appointment.
