Central Delaware Civil War Round Table to present John F. Bochnowski Memorial Award

The Central Delaware Civil War Round Table is currently seeking nominees for the fourth annual John F. Bochnowski Memorial Award.

The nomination period will run from Feb. 1 through May 1. Nomination information can be accepted by current CDCWRT officers or board members. Paragraph submissions should be sent to cdcwrtaward@yahoo.com. The $500 award will be presented at the group’s June 18 meeting.

Nominated students must be a junior or senior in a high school or homeschool program, or freshman or sophomore in college; and must be a legal resident of Delaware.

Nominators should include a brief description of why they feel this student is deserving of this award. The nominating person is requested to be at the planned presentation during the June meeting.

The nominated student will need to write a brief paragraph on what has directed them toward the study of the American Civil War and their educational and career goals that include the study and preservation of American Civil War history. Also, they will need to include any past/current activities that focused on the American Civil War, such as participating in living history reenactments, educational courses beyond standard high school curriculums, internships/volunteer service at museums/historical sites, etc.
