Honda completes RM11m parts warehouse expansion
SHAH ALAM: Honda Malaysia is looking to meet the growing demand for its spare parts with the completion of a RM11 million expansion of Phase 2 of its Parts Warehouse in Bukit Jelutong.
The carmaker said in a statement that it had recently completed the expansion of Phase 2 of the warehouse to support the rising after sales demand, which has been growing in tandem with increased sales and service intakes.
“Honda Malaysia has recorded remarkable sales growth and service intakes in the last four years and this, in turn, has translated into an increasing demand for spare parts. This expansion is timely as sales of spare parts have experienced a growth of 32% while demand arising from body and paint activities rose by 48% in 2017 against the 2016 records,” said Honda Malaysia managing director and CEO Toichi Ishiyama.
"With this expanded warehouse, we will be able to deliver parts in a timely manner to dealers, towards providing better customer service,” Ishiyama said.
The warehouse's storage capacity has been increased to a total build up area of 21,700 square metres and will be able to cater to storage needs until 2022.
Apart from an increased storage capacity, Honda Malaysia will also see an improvement in warehousing operations and speedy delivery of parts to dealers and customers. The expansion will also accommodate the company’s future business growth.
On top of that, Honda Malaysia will also be undertaking night delivery of parts to dealers and outlets, to ensure timely delivery of parts to dealers and avoid interruption to their operations.
The warehouse, which was opened in 2012, supports the parts requirements of the 93 Honda dealers in Malaysia and sits on a 50,000 square metres land.
