RSBY will be subsumed in the NHPS scheme once it is launched.
In his Budget speech, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced a National Health Protection Scheme for around 10 crore poor families. Touted as the world's biggest government-funded healthcare scheme, here's what we know so far:

* Niti Aayog estimates NHPS will cost govt Rs 5000-6000 crore at a premium of RS 1000-1200 per family assuming 50% coverage in the first year

* Challenge will be scheme implementation and governance

* Centre and state share will be 60:40. Hence the Centre will have to shell out Rs 3000 crore

* Scheme can be funded from 1% additional cess which will fetch Rs 11,000 crore

* RSBY will be subsumed in the NHPS scheme once it is launched
