(Feb. 1, 2018) The girls varsity basketball team picked up two more wins this week, beating league foes Sturgis West 49-31 Saturday and Saint John Paul II 41-25 Friday.
The Whalers won both games with depth, an aggressive press and dominant rebounding.
“We mixed it up the last week. We’re trying to put a few other people in there, to see where they’re at so when we get to the tournament we know who’s ready, what groups work well together and who deserves to be out there. They were both good team wins and I’m glad we got everyone in,” head coach Lori Moran said.
The Whalers (9-3, 8-1 Cape & Islands League) were scheduled to play Rising Tide on the road yesterday, too late for this edition of Sports, before hosting Cape Cod Academy today, traveling to Sturgis West Saturday and then hosting Rising Tide Monday.
