Pedestrian vs vehicle in Durham produces minor injuries

DURHAM — A 62-year-old woman was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with minor injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in downtown Durham.

Durham Deputy Police Chief Rene Kelley said the collision occurred 1:40 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Pettee Brook Lane and Main Street near the Aroma Joe’s Coffee. McGregor Memorial EMS transported the woman to the hospital via ambulance.

Kelley said the police department was not yet releasing names of the pedestrian or driver. He said the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
