OAKLAND — Two men were wounded Thursday night in a West Oakland shooting, police said Friday.

Both men were in stable condition. One is 27 and the other 28.

Some cars and a home were also struck by gunfire but no one else was reported injured.

The shooting happened about  9:22 p.m. Thursday in the  900 block of Filbert Street.

Police said the men were standing in a group with other people when at least one person began shooting at them. It is not known yet if they were the intended targets.

Police have not said if the shots were fired from a car or by someone on  the street.

The two men were the only ones injured.  Both were shot in the lower parts of their bodies and got their own rides to a hospital.

Police are trying to establish a motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.  Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
