Mt. Pleasant Methodist Service Set
Mt. Pleasant First United Methodist Church holds traditional Sunday worship at 9 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary, and then again in a more contemporary style at 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall. There will be a sermon by Lay Speaker Carole Baker. Her message is called “Pipelines” and will discuss spiritual gifts. The sacrament of communion will be offered to all present.
Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Service Set
Worship at First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Andrew Miller’s Reflection, “Prayer is A Part of It” is based on Mark 1:29-39. Who taught you to pray? How do you balance prayer and contemplation with service and action? How are prayer and service connected? Who often do you pray? Where and when do you pray? The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be served during worship. Following worship there will be a lunch.
Unitarian Universalist Service Set
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Michigan will hold its service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, at 319 S. University Ave. (corner of Wisconsin and University) in Mt. Pleasant. Religious education and childcare are provided. The worship message is titled “On Perseverance.”
Christian Women’s Connection Luncheon
Mt. Pleasant Area Christian Women’s Connection will hold a luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Camille’s on the River (506 W. Broadway in Mt. Pleasant). Membership is not required. There will be a special feature, and music by the VanderVeens. Inspirational speaker Laura Nowlan will share what happened when ”Along came the Big Bad Wolf.” All this, plus lunch, beverages, and dessert for $12. Rosebush United Methodist Announcements
Evening casual church is held at 6 p.m. every Monday. Kids are welcome. Contemporary worship is open to all regardless of anything. Rosebush Ecumenical Assistance Program
A free food pantry is open on Thursdays at the St. Henry Church – corner of Mission & Vernon Rd. Serving Rosebush, Mt. Pleasant, Clare, Farwell, Lake, Weidman only. Hours 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Must bring a valid Michigan ID. Monday evening casual church is held every week at 6 p.m. at the Rosebush United Methodist Church (3805 School Road). All ages and denominations are welcome. Every first and third Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at the Rosebush United Methodist Church.
Lutheran Free Clothing Store
Living Hope Lutheran Church’s free-clothing store is open on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are loads of clothes plus blankets, sheets, toys, curtains and more. It’s located in the old Chemical bank drive-in, 2370 Ludington Dr. in Farwell, across from Reds party and marathon station. If the schools are closed for bad weather, the store will be closed, too.
Gospel Jamboree
There will be a gospel jamboree at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, at the First Church of the Nazarene (1980 S. Lincoln Rd. Mt. Pleasant). John Capen and friends will give you an evening of the old hymns.

Alma College Grad Becomes Director of Spiritual Life
Rev. Andrew Pomerville, an Alma College graduate with more than a decade of pastoral experience, has been named director of spiritual life at Alma College. As the college chaplain, he will oversee campus ministries that honor a diversity of faith perspectives. His appointment is effective March 16.
