Fourth-ranked Michigan was too much for No. 15 Nebraska, as the Wolverines won seven of 10 matches and finished with a 24-10 win Friday at Keen Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Nebraska's Eric Schultz (197 pounds) picked up a win over All-American and No. 11 Kevin Beazley in an 8-6 decision, which marked his first win over a ranked opponent this year and avenged a loss to Beazley earlier this season.
The Huskers earned back-to-back wins after Michigan took a 15-3 lead into intermission. No. 14 Chad Red (141) outlasted Sal Profaci for an 8-5 decision. No. 11 Colton McCrystal (149) had the Huskers' last win, a 10-2 major decision over No. 18 Malik Amine that cut the Michigan lead to five at 15-10.
Three ranked matches went in favor of the Wolverines, including a 9-5 decision by No. 5 Dominic Abounader (184) over No. 7 Taylor Venz to open the dual. No. 8 Tyler Berger (157) fell to No. 7 Alec Pantaleo 9-3 and No. 12 Isaiah White dropped a 3-1 sudden victory to No. 9 Logan Massa as Michigan put the dual out of reach.
The Huskers fell to 5-2 in the Big Ten and 7-4 for the season, and the loss puts an end to their five-dual win streak. Nebraska will continue its weekend trip on Sunday, facing Michigan State in East Lansing at 1 p.m.
