PCSB Outreach Lunch & Learn

The Polk County School Board will conduct an Outreach Lunch & Learn for Minority- and Female-Owned Businesses from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Polk Street Community Center, 1255 Polk St., Bartow. This event is to encourage small, minority and female-owned companies to work as vendors, contractors and sub-contractors in the Polk County District. The School Board hopes to empower business growth and development with minorities throughout Central Florida and to encourage small businesses to grow more competitive in the construction industry. SCORE workshop

Central Florida SCORE will host a Small Business Workshop titled “Understand Your Business by Understanding Your Financials,” Tuesday, at My Office & More, 122 E. Main St., Lakeland. Refreshments at 7:45 a.m., workshop 8 to 9:30 a.m. The workshop will be presented by Kate Lake, owner of My Office & More and former chief financial officer. ‘Goal Setting for 2018’

Business and Breakfast sponsored by The Estates at Carpenters takes place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at The Estates at Carpenters, 100 Carpenters Way, Lakeland. Financial education at Lunch & Learns

Aventail Wealth Management will be hosting a series of educational financial Lunch & Learns. The Thursday topic is "Long Term Care." The March 6 topic, "Key to Financial Comfort," will be presented by Brian Ulch, investment advisor and senior portfolio manager of Aventail Wealth Management. Lake Wales State of the City lunch

The Lake Wales Annual State of the City Luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Woman's Club of Lake Wales, 275 E. Park Ave., Lake Wales. Central Florida SCORE's Winter/Spring 2018 workshop series in partnership with the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce will offer the following workshops on the fourth Thursday of the month. Feb. 22: Leads with Linkedin; March 22: Leveraging Your Business with “The Cloud;” April 26: Increase Your Sales with Relationship Building; May 24: Balancing the Books for Growth, Simple Bookkeeping Setups. Lakeland Chamber’s Friday Forum: State of the City/State of the County featuring Lakeland Mayor Bill Mutz and Polk County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Todd Dantzler takes place from 7 to 9 a.m. Feb. 23 at Imperial Swan Hotel & Suites, 4141 S. Chamber hosts management training

The Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a seven-week management training course lead by Emily Rogers Consulting + Coaching, to provide leadership development training to emerging leaders in the business community. Rogers is a business consultant, executive coach and retreat facilitator. This program will provide participants with the following skills: Introduction to high-performance leadership, understanding your leadership style, developing highly-functioning teams, managing and resolving conflict through improved communication, creating intelligent change, managing workplace stress and cultivating a conscious culture. Classes will be held: 1:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday (orientation), 9:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 20, March 6, March 13, April 3, April 17, May 1.
