Ford Freestyle CUV Unleashed In India
It is widely believed that the CUV, which will be available in petrol and diesel versions, will be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 – 8.0 Lakh

Ford India unveiled its Ford Freestyle, a cross-hatch variant of Figo, for the Indian market. Positioned as a compact utility vehicle (CUV), it will go on sale in the second quarter of the calendar year 2018. Once launched, it will be taking on Toyota Etios Cross; Volkswagen Polo Cross Hyundai i20 Active & Fiat Avventura. It is widely believed that the CUV, which will be available in petrol and diesel versions, will be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 – 8.0 Lakh. To be more than 75% localized, the new model would be manufactured at the company’s Sanand plant and will be exported to major markets including Europe and the Middle East.
"The global unveil of the Ford Freestyle strengthens Ford's continued commitment to India to bring products that consumers want and value," Anurag Mehrotra, President and Managing Director, Ford India, said on the sidelines, adding, “The all-new Freestyle will position Ford to address growing consumers demand for SUV-like vehicles, especially the youth.”
The Freestyle will be powered by the all-aluminium 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 96PS of power and 120Nm of torque as well as a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that cranks out 100PS of power and 215Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an all-new five-speed manual gearbox from Getrag. Besides SUV styling, the new model also features Ford’s award-winning SYNC 3 system, with a high-resolution 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with AppleCar Play and Android Auto.
