Hyderabad, Feb 2: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her Facebook friend inside a cinema hall in Secunderabad. The incident was reported on January 29. The police have arrested the accused and initiated action against the cinema hall owner.

In her complaint, the victim stated that she got in touch with the accused through Facebook about two months ago.

According to a report in The New Indian Express, the duo went to Prashanth theatre to watch ‘Padmaavat’ movie. “While the girl was watching the movie, the accused assaulted her. The girl went home and informed about it to her parents,” the police was quoted as saying. Two months back, in a similar incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped inside a movie theater in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. The police had arrested two people in connection with the case.

Reportedly, the accused had befriended the girl over telephone, following which they decided to meet for shopping in Mawana. After shopping, the duo went to a cinema hall and were joined by a friend of the prime accused.

As the film began, the duo allegedly took the girl to the balcony area of the theater and forced themselves on her. They reportedly took the victim to Muzaffarnagar on their bike after committing the crime.

In December last year, the body of a 5-year-old with her head smashed was found dumped in the bushes in Hyderabad. The accused, a 23-year-old who lived in the neighbourhood, had been arrested for allegedly raping and killing the minor girl.
