PREP ROUNDUP: Oxford girls get past West Bloomfield

GIRLS BASKETBALL

OXFORD 61, WEST BLOOMFIELD 54

The Oxford girls basketball team improved to 7-2 in the OAA White on Thursday thanks to a win over West Bloomfield. HaLaya Cato had 22 points and six rebounds to lead the Wildcats while Lauren Methner had 13 points.

ROCHESTER ADAMS 63, LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 50

The Rochester Adams picked up a 63-50 win over Lutheran Northwest on Thursday. Makayla Smith and Lauren Petersmark each had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Highlanders.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WATERFORD OUR LADY 59, ANN ARBOR GREENHILLS 52

Grant Ross scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds to lead Waterford Our Lady past Ann Arbor Greenhills on Thursday night. Noah Robak added 17 points and seven assists for the Lakers.

BOYS SWIMMING

NOVI 102, HOWELL 84

The Novi boys swim team improved to 8-1 in dual meets on Thursday with a 102-84 win over Howell. Jack McClure won diving (201.65) for the Wildcats while Daniel Chung won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.17). The Novi team of Adam Carozza, Max Robbins, Preston Harrell and Alexander Yuan combined to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:21.08).

WALLED LAKE CENTRAL 110, LAKELAND 73

The Lakeland swim team suffered a 110-73 loss to Walled Lake Central on Thursday night. The Eagles won the 200 medley relay behind a team of Jonah Walker, Jacob Hazelton, Peyton Triplette and Maksym Rozhko. Austin Kolb won diving while Jack Winslow won the 100 freestyle, Hazelton won the 500 freestyle and Walker won the 100 backstroke.

BOYS BOWLING

OXFORD 30, AVONDALE 0

Oxford improved to 6-0 in the OAA Red on Thursday with a sweep of Avondale. The Wildcats had baker games of 223 and 213. Then it was Dean Petersen that led the way for Oxford. His games of 247 and 202 featured nine consecutive strikes. Christian Cartner (225,191) and Tanner Cartner (191,217) also helped lead Oxford.

OXFORD 30, AVONDALE 0

The Oxford girls remained undefeated in the OAA Red division with a sweep of Avondale. On Thursday, Oxford post scores of 207 and 155 in baker games. Leading the way was Deanna Staser with games of 192 and 182. Marissa Smith (184), Jenny Legault (170) and Claire Sandstrom (191) also helped lead the Wildcats.
