LAKE TWP. A commemorative, gold-plated ornament of the current Hartville Elementary school, originally built as the Lake Township School in 1927, is available for purchase through the Lake Township Historical Society (LTHS).
The ornament depicts the building from its southeast corner at Belle Avenue and Lincoln Street. The cost is $15. A short history of the 91-year-old school building will be included with each ornament.
Orders are being taken by LTHS volunteer and Lake resident Dana Protsman through Feb. 16. The LTHS must receive a minimum of 200 orders in order for Chem-Art, the ornament manufacturer, to produce them.

Ornaments can be picked up during a special farewell event being planned to say goodbye to Hartville and Lake elementary buildings April 7.
