Duluth curlers Lexi Lanigan and Rebecca Miles face a must win this morning after losing their match Thursday in the USA Curling Junior National Championships at the Detroit Curling Club.
Lanigan and Miles, who play on Cora Farrell's rink, lost 8-6 to Beth Podoll to fall to 5-3 in the round-robin tournament and in a three-way tie for fourth.
Farrell faces Anya Normandeau at 7 a.m. today with a chance to qualify for the girls' Page playoffs later in the day.
Sara Olson's Duluth rink lost 9-8 to Ariel Traxler in an extra end to fall to 1-7 heading into their final match late Thursday.
On the boys side, Duluth's Jonathan Harstad was on the winning side as Nicholas Connolly's team beat Kevin Tuma and Trevor Marquardt to finish 7-2 and clinch a playoff spot.
