Train movement between Dhaka and the northern and southern districts remained snapped for three hours yesterday after a head-on collision between two freight trains near Bhangura station here.
A freight train going to the southern districts collided with a halted freight train near Bhangura rail station about 7:00am.
Bhangura Station Master Abdul Malek said a Chittagong-bound freight train from Rangpur halted on Track No 1 in the station area early yesterday. Another train from Dhaka, which was running on the same track due to a wrong signal, hit the train.
Two bogies of the freight train from Dhaka were derailed, snapping train movement between Dhaka and the southern and northern districts till 10:00am, he added.
