All India Civil Services Volley ball Championship is being organised in TT Nagar Stadium that will begin from Thursdayin Bhopal. The championship is being organised Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.
Nearly 400 players and officers from around 25 teams from different states will participate in the All India Civil Services Whirlpool Competition. In connection with the successful conduct of this four-day tournament, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain has given necessary directions to the concerned officers.
Teams for RSB Kochi, R. S. B. Hyderabad, R. S. B. Kanpur, R. S. B. Jaipur, R. S. B. Ahmedabad, R. S. B. Uttarakhand, R.S.B. Jabalpur, R. S. B. 20 teams, including Patna, Himachal Pradesh Secretariat, Chhattisgarh Secretariat, Pandukheri Secretariat, Delhi Central Secretariat, Tamil Nadu Secretariat, Kerala Secretariat, Goa Secretariat, GNCT Delhi, Rajasthan Secretariat, Madhya Pradesh Secretariat, Haryana Secretariat and Uttarakhand Secretariat have reached Bhopal for matches.
It is to be noted that All India Civil Services Volley Ball Championship is being organized for the third time in the State capital by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The competition was organized from last year 13 to 17 February, 2017, in which RSB Kochi winners and R. S. B. Mumbai was named as the runner-up champion.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Athletics Academy player Kartikeya Deshwal shot a silver medal in Madhya Pradesh by throwing 18.29 meters in the round-the-clock event in 'Khelo India' organized in Delhi. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana remained third in the competition. Academy's Kartikeya Deshwal is being trained by Athletics Academy's Chief Coach SK and Virendra Singh.
It is worth mentioning that the Minister of State Sports and Youth Welfare Yashodhara Raje Scindia has made initiatives and efforts in encouraging players in different sports field. Athletics Academy players have so far received 37 medals in various events, including 13 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals.
