THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State finance minister Thomas Isaac has said the Union budget was an attempt in vain to cover up the serious economic crisis in the country. The financial deficit increased from 3.2 pc last year to 3.5 this year. This year's deficit target was 3 pc.

Isaaac expressed his concern through his Facebook page.

He added that 1.96 pc of the national income was set apart for rural development, health and education while in this year's budget, it was brought down to 1.82 pc
