Welcoming the General Budget for 2018-19, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Thursday said that the Budget has brought benefits of the economic reforms of the Modi’s Government to every section of the country simultaneously.
“On the one hand, the Union Budget 2018 has provisions for the development of agriculture and food parks while on the other it will give new momentum to the industry and trade resulting in employment to the youth of the urban areas and villages,” said Tiwari
“Rejuvenating education system from Primary to 12th Standards, establishment of 5 lakh new health centres, expansion of public toilets countrywide, in addition to creation 70 lakh jobs will benefit the urban poor and the rural poor equally,” said Tiwari.
“Pollution is a grave problem and Government has shown its concern on it in the Budget,” said the BJP leader who is also MP from North- East Delhi .
“The Health Scheme Ayushman envisioned by the Government will not only benefit the poor but middle class too. Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) loans will benefit the urban youth by opening door for new self employment opportunities,” Tiwari added.
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta also welcomed the enhanced allocation for the Capital. “The announcement to increase allocation for 1984 riot victims and special scheme to tackle air pollution in Delhi are encouraging,” he said.
Gupta said the focus has been given to improve farmers’ income, upliftment of deprived sections of society, providing social security to senior citizen, low and middle income groups and women.
“The Centre has allocated Rs 790 crore for Delhi in the 2018-19 Budget as compared to Rs 757.99 crore in the previous Budget,” he said.
Gupta also welcomed the provision of Rs 5 lakh health coverage to 10 crore poor families. “This shows that the Modi Government is committed to ensuring productivity and ease of living for the most vulnerable sections of society,” he added.
