4 charged in robbery, assault of 78-year-old man in Moore County

CARTHAGE — Four teens are accused of robbing and assaulting a 78-year-old Robbins man on separate occasions, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said today.

The home-invasion robberies at the home of the victim, who was not identified, on Mount Carmel Road happened Christmas Day and Jan. 2, Deputy Chief Frank Rodriguez said.

On both occasions, the four broke in after dark, he said. The victim was beaten on both occasions, but did not require hospitalization.

Firearms were taken on the Christmas Day robbery, Rodriguez said, while money and prescription drugs were taken in the Jan. 2 incident.
