Manipur celebrates R-Day amidst strikes

Manipur celebrated the 69th Republic Day amidst tightened security in view of boycott and general strikes calls given by various rebel groups.

State Governor Dr Najma Heptulla unfurled the tri-colour at the main function at Kangla fort, Imphal while chief minister N Biren Singh unfurled the national flag at Imphal airport. In his address, chief minister N Biren Singh assured that his government will maintain and continue the hard earned tranquility in the state.
