US to unveil Trump's nuclear policy

The Pentagon will unveil United States President Donald Trump's nuclear policy today, and critics are warning it could trigger another arms race and raise the risk of miscalculations that might spark an atomic conflict.

A leaked draft version of the Nuclear Posture Review indicates the Pentagon is calling for the development of a new type of low-yield nuclear bomb that is designed to be used on the battlefield, rather than to level a city.


Nafa celebrates 80th anniversary

The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Nafa) is launching its year-long 80th anniversary celebrations today. This is alongside the opening of a new tower block at the school's campus. A sculpture titled Seed, by Nafa alumna and sculptor Han Sai Por, a Cultural Medallion recipient, will also be unveiled as part of the anniversary celebrations.


S'pore manufacturing PMI out today

Singapore's manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for last month is expected to be released tonight.

The PMI is a leading barometer of the economy. Manufacturers had ended last year on a high, fuelled mainly by strong growth in electronics. But there are signs that the pace of expansion may be moderating.
