SmarTone fined for breaching Unified Carrier Licence in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) has found that SmarTone had been operating radio base stations without the approval of the Communications Authority (CA). Having considered the findings of OFCA and the representations made by SmarTone, the CA decided that SmarTone had breached General Condition 12.1 of its Unified Carrier Licence. The CA decided that a financial penalty of HKD 140,000 should be imposed on SmarTone.
