Noted scientist, professor Chandra Shekhar Nautiyal took over as the new vice chancellor of the Doon University here on Thursday. On his day itself, he held a series of meetings with administrative staff, heads of schools, senior faculty members, student council members and others. His appointment is a good sign for academic excellence.
The vice chancellor showed keen interest in meeting the students who won this year’s Great Britain Debate Competition, held at a private university in Dehradun. Professor Nautiyal congratulated the team of Ina Rayal and Ashutosh Srivastava for bringing laurels to the Doon University with their performance in the prestigious debate competition.
While interacting with department heads and senior professors he emphasised the need to increase the educational and research activities in the university.
He said he will be readily available to the faculty members, staff and students of the university.
After his interactions, the vice chancellor also visited the entire campus and interacted with students.
Acting registrar HC Purohit, deputy registrar MS Mandrawal and assistant registrar Narendra Lal among others were also present on the occasion.
