THE heavily pregnant wife of a tradesman killed in a tragic workplace accident says her heart is broken.
Ryan de Wit, 29, was electrocuted while working near a live switchboard at a factory in Dandenong on Monday.
Described as a "big hearted" man, he was just weeks away from becoming a father.
His grieving wife, Emma de Wit, remembered him as beautiful, fun and loving.
A GoFund Me page has been set up to support Mrs de Wit and their child.
"The man was a great bloke and a well loved family member, friend and husband," Aj Jamison, who established the fundraiser, says on the page.
In a heartbreaking tribute posted to Facebook, Mrs de Wit said she hoped their baby grew up to be just like him.
"My heart is so broken," she posted.
"There will never be anyone like him and we were all so lucky to have him in our lives.
"I will miss him forever. He was my best friend and soulmate.
"Rest In Peace you beautiful soul.
"I love you so-so much and always will.
"I hope that our baby will grow up to be just like you."
His sister, Dani Holliday, paid tribute to her brother online by sharing a picture of them as children.
Mr de Wit was to become a first time dad in April.
His sister-in law said he would never be forgotten.
"Thank you for bringing so much joy, laughter and love into our family and making my beautiful sister so happy," Leah Holgate posted.
"Baby de Wit will be so so loved. Will miss you always and remember you forever."
Friends have vowed to make sure his wife will "never walk alone" in life.
Teghan Ashlea McLeod said: "There are no words to describe what an incredible, fun, loving and caring guy Ryan was."
"He lightened up the lives of everyone he met. Emma, you and your sweet little baby will never walk alone in this life. You have the support of people near and wide!"
Mr de Wit was an electrician and lived in Melbourne's southeast suburbs.
He and his wife married in late 2016.
