Airline BLASTED after lingerie-clad flight attendants put on RACY show for footy lads

A BUDGET airline has been blasted by officials after flight attendants put on a mid-air lingerie show in front of an U-23 football team.

“This was an improvised performance by the logistics team”

Thi Phung Thao

VietJet sparked a fierce backlash after staff revealed their skimpy outfits during a flight from China to Vietnam.

A VietJet spokesman said the performance was part of a “hero’s welcome” despite the squad narrow losing to Uzbekistan at the U-23 Asian Football Championship final.

The airline has become notorious for their scantily-clad staff, who often walk down the aisles in bikinis, and its raunchy adverts.

But, its latest stunt was slammed by critics who took to social media to hit out at the airline.

Some claimed it was a “cheap PR stunt” and others said they would boycott the company.

Furious Facebook user Quang Nguyen wrote to the company’s CEO Thi Phung Thao where he asked ‘Do you want to remake Vietjet ‘Vietjerk’, or Vietsex?”

Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) fined the company 40 million dong (£1,240) for “jeopardising the safety of the flight”.

It said: “Despite the fact the Vietjet event didn’t jeopardise the safety of the flight, it could still have posed a safety risk.”

The chief stewardess was fined about £123 over the show.

Billionaire Thao later apologised for the “improvised performance” on the company’s Facebook page.

She said: “This was an improvised performance by the logistics team that was not part of the company’s programme.”
